WHEN IS FOOT SWEATING NATURAL FOR A CHILD?

A healthy child sweats when:

  • it moves a lot, is physically active,
  • is dressed inadequately for weather conditions,
  • is dressed incorrectly - used shoes, tights, socks, made of artificial materials or too tight, making them impermeable to air.

Sweat that accumulates in the glands on the feet must be evaporated. When this process is disturbed, for example by covering the feet too tightly, they start to sweat.

A child's foot naturally sweats much more than an adult's. This is due to an underdeveloped thermoregulation mechanism.

Occasionally, sweaty feet may give off an unpleasant odor. This may indicate a fungal infection of the skin, which should be referred to a pediatrician.
